Club Mission Statement

Auburn Flycasters is a community based organization dedicated to bringing together men and women to mutually experience the joys of flyfishing.  Open to persons of all experience levels, Auburn Flycasters seeks to provide a positive and enjoyable experience for its members through new friendships, education, conservation, and memorable fishing experiences.

Guest Speakers Wanted!

The club is always looking for new and interesting guest speakers to present at our monthly meetings. If you are or know of someone who fits this description, please write, e-mail, or call us (see contact info below).

Your Club Needs You

Several positions are vacant and need someone to step forward and volunteer:

  • Program/speaker coordinator
  • Fishout leaders
  • Refreshments helper - Thank you Bill Heyenbruck for volunteering to do this!
  • Annual picnic coordinator
  • Casting instruction coordinator
Talk to any of the officers for more information or to volunteer.

Next Fishout on the Upper Sac October 11th and 12th

Audrey will lead the October fishout on the Upper Sac. Contact Audrey for more details.

Upper Sac Clinic October 11th

In conjunction with the October fishout, local guide Steven Bertrand will give the club an ~4hr clinic on how to fish the Upper Sac. The clinic will cover gear, technique, and on stream instruction. The clinic is free for club members. Contact Audrey for more details and to sign up.

General Meeting September 10th Features Al Smatsky and a New (temporary) Location

The September general club meeting will be held in the back room of Lou La Bonte's restaurant on Lincoln Way. Guest speaker Al Smatsky will give a presentation on the Rogue River and choosing salt water flyfishing destination. We hope to see you there!

Click here for map of CDF facility.Auburn Flycasters general meeting is held the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the "Prevention" room at CDF Headquarters on Lincoln Way, Auburn (off I-80 Bowman exit). Visitors are always welcome and are encouraged to come and enjoy our presentations on angling, flytying, equipment, entomology, conservation, and adventures.
